Academician (biochemistry-biotechnology),
Member of Georgian Academy of Science (1988).
He has published over 200 papers in the filed of biochemistry
and biotechnology.
In 1969 defended the candidate thesis on: " Biothinthesis of
a-Amylase in deep culture of Aspergillus aryzae" and in 1979-
the doctor's scientific degree on " The characterization of
amylolitic enzymes of fungi, general Aspergillus".
Main sphere of scientific activity:
Study of extremophylic microorganisms and their enzymes;
creation of ecobiotechnologies based on the abilities of plants
to assimilate and metabolize organic toxicants.
Giorgi Kvesitadze is the Professor of the Tbilisi State
University and the Georgian Technical University. Under his
guidance 57 candidates and 8 doctors of sciences have been
trained. He is the member of editorial boards of two
international (Fresenius Enviromental Bulletin; Ecotoxicology
and Environmental Safety), two Russian (Biochimia, Prikladnaya
biochimia i microbiologia) and two Georgian (Moambe, Matsne)
scientific journals, the read of the council for granting
scientific degrees (biochemistry, biotechnology).
In 1995 he was selected as an active member of International
Academy of Sciences, Education, Industry and Art (California USA)
and in 1996-a member of Georgian Academy of Ecology. Giorgi
Kvesitadze is the member of the World biotechnologists
Association.
